We are able to equip our production department with automated systems designed and built by engineers from our in-house Research & Development Office, to achieve maximum flexibility and process efficiency.

Our
Processes

Turning

We have mobile and fixed headstock CNC lathes that offer a production capacity of up to 20 million parts per year.
The high specialisation of the machine operators and the ongoing training provided are the right ingredients to achieve the quality and reliability recognised on all markets.

Grinding

We have a modern grinding department with 6 grinders of different types: centerless, plunge and centre-type.
Internal grinding, a novelty for the company, proves to be an additional “plus” for customers, who can entrust this stage of the production process to our know-how.

Threading

Threading is a process that generates a helical coupling between two elements.
In particular, Orbital Threading has brought MABO into the ranks of specialised suppliers for this type of mechanical processing, mainly required by the Automotive sector.

Rolling

We have an important rolling department equipped with multi-roll machines for cold working: these processes allow the supply of parts with very low roughness surfaces, with rolled threads or with knurling to design.

Pressing

Cold pressing is carried out on semi-finished products coming from turning, and includes operations such as hobbing, pinching, cutting, bending and stamping.
There are 3 machines with this function, designed and built internally to meet specific customer requirements.

Running-In/Smoothing

We have an automated robotic island for progressive running-in-/smoothing with 8 stations set up for cartridges, valve seats and many other operations.
Tolerances are close to zero: the island is able to smooth through-holes of hydraulic parts from Ø 4 to Ø 32, with a geometric tolerance of 2 μ; cylindricity tolerance of 2 μ and roundness tolerance of 1 μ. It is able to produce articles with a surface roughness lower than RZ1.

Finishing Treatment

In the event of specific requirements and upon specific customer requests, the finishing treatment department is also able to perform ISF – Isotropic Superfinishing Process: this process aims to improve the surface technical features and useful life of the treated part.
It is a process obtained through high-density medium vibratory finishing with activator chemicals – chosen according to customer needs – to achieve results with very low surface roughness.

Washing

Every piece we produce at MABO Metals are washed to remove all residues of oils, greases, shavings and dust present on the surface following processing from industrial products.
Washing is carried out with sophisticated, state-of-the-art machinery powered only by aliphatic hydrocarbons with zero environmental impact, in full compliance with ISO 14001 guidelines (environmental certification).

Turning, grinding and much more, our machinery inventory includes:

  • 50 CNC mobile and fixed headstock lathes with automatic loaders for processing bars with a diameter from 2 to 50 mm.
  • 3 orbital threaders
  • 3 rolling machines
  • 1 lathe for processing hardened material
  • 5 centreless and plunge grinders
  • 1 centre-type grinder
  • Brush deburring machine
